EARACHES
Hopefully this little bit of advice can save many children from the pain of earaches.
Earaches seem to occur when the doctor’s office and the local quick care clinics are closed. Late at night on Saturday or Sunday are the most common occurrences, according to the Murphy laws that I am familiar with as a parent and grandparent.
Many years ago when my oldest daughter was about 3 years old, which was in 1977, she had an earache on a Sunday night. At that time I was not a Chiropractor, I did not know what to do to help her. So I phoned a member of our church for help. He came over to our apartment and we gave her a priesthood blessing. She immediately felt better and she went to sleep. During the next few days I thought and prayed as to what actions I could do to avoid future earaches. The thought came to me to lightly rub downwards on her neck daily to gently push body fluids out of the neck and away from the ear. So, each day with each of our children I rubbed downward lightly from the skull to the shoulders all the way around the neck. Do not just rub down once but many times, perhaps 20 or more times. If the skin on the neck gets pink from rubbing put some olive oil or coconut oil on your fingers.
I continued this daily practice for many years and there was never another child with an earache in our family.
I would suggest rubbing your own and your children’s neck daily whether there are signs of an earache or not. Do the preventative maintenance before the emergency is upon you.
I hope this information will help some of you who have been struggling with this in your family.
We appreciate you reading this message from our humble clinic.
